Do you remember our Railways to Wellbeing trail from earlier this year? Our Senior ICT Officer & Tutor, Mark, recently spoke on a podcast about the inspiration behind the project - developed as part of the 200th anniversary of the modern railway.
Darlington played a key role in railway history. It was home to the Stockton & Darlington Railway, which ran the world’s first passenger train back in 1825. Now, 200 years on, the town is celebrating this legacy with events, activities, and community projects throughout the area.
Our Railways to Wellbeing trail invited people to walk in the footsteps of history while following the 5 Ways to Wellbeing: Connect, Be Active, Take Notice, Keep Learning, and Give, encouraging everyone to support their mental and physical wellbeing while exploring our rich local heritage.
