“Come and express yourself with the Art project”
Darlington Mind runs an exciting, innovative and creative Arts and Crafts Project and we invite you to be inspired. We assist and encourage people with mental health problems to develop their artistic and creative skills in our caring and supportive environment.
The project works with people on an individual basis and in groups, so whether you are a beginner or a proficient artist, we feel we will always have something for you to enjoy. We want to enable people to de-stress and let their imagination take them to interesting places as they paint, mould, design, develop and create.
Darlington Mind’s Art and Creative Crafts Project run six-weekly courses that enable participants to focus on a specific initiative. This helps people to get involved with others and assists them to build confidence in various techniques and skills. As well as assisting people to develop their own personal creations, we also would like people to work together on collaborative projects.
Our qualified and experienced Artist is always there to teach, inspire, support and give practical advice.
We also offer regular trips to museums and galleries, as well as visits to local historic buildings in and around Darlington. This helps people to develop an understanding of art history and different artists, offering new opportunities to collect ideas for future pieces of art, and give them a greater understanding and confidence to try something different.
So don’t miss out! Contact the Art and Crafts Support Worker and discover your inner creative talents. You never know, we might help you to develop a life-long hobby, make you feel inspired and help develop your imagination.
