In these challenging times, people are concerned about the risks of the Covid 19 infection, often feel isolated, restricted on what they are able to do, lonely, worried about the future and as a result sleeping patterns are often disrupted.
Increased Stress Levels
Many people are experiencing stress and anxiety because of the uncertainty Covid 19 has brought us all. Worries about loved ones, work, income and health sometimes dominate thinking.
Not being able to get to sleep or indeed stay asleep are common as a result of not being able to switch off or relax. Repeated nights of poor sleep will affect anyone and common symptoms include:

This is not unusual and there are practical things you can do to help address this including:
- Keep regular sleep hours
- Create a restful sleeping environment
- Make sure your bed is comfortable
- Exercise regularly
- Cut down on caffeine
- Do not over-indulge
- Do not smoke
- Try to relax before going to bed.
